With its long and storied history, Main Street Station, a registered National Historic Landmark, continues to thrive along with the Shockoe Bottom area. In addition to providing Amtrak service, the station is available for rental for private events. Its upper floors are now home to corporate tenants, the City of Richmond's Department of Economic and Community Development.

The building is owned by the City of Richmond and operated by the RMA.

Amtrak information
Main Street Station is an unstaffed Amtrak Station. To make reservations, call 1-800-USA-RAIL or go to Amtrak on the web. RMA staff is on site to answer questions at the station.

Friday                          8 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday     8 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Parking

Main Street Station offers well-lit automated public parking facilities in two locations. The east parking lot is located on Main Street with the entrance between the station and 17th Street. The Plaza is located between Main and Cary Streets directly across from the Station (enter from Main or Cary). Parking is free for the first hour, $1.00 per hour after the first hour up to $5.00 per day. Payment can be made in the automated pay stations with cash (up to $20 bills), Visa or MasterCard.

Directions

From points South:

• Take I-95 North to Richmond. 
  
• Take the Broad Street exit (74C).
  
• Bear right to 33 East (Broad Street) from exit (74C).
  
• Turn right onto Broad Street.
  
• Go up the hill and turn left at the light unto North 14th Street.
  
• Turn left onto Main Street and you will see Main Street Station immediately to your left between 15th and 17th streets.

From points North:

• Take I-95 South to Richmond.
  
• Take the Franklin Street exit (74B).
  
• Go straight through the traffic light (turns into North 15th Street) and go to Main Street.
  
• Turn left onto Main Street and you will see Main Street Station immediately to your left between 15th and 17th streets.

From points West:

• Take I-64 East to Richmond.
  
• In Richmond, I-64 and I-95 merge.
  
• Stay straight and go onto I-95 South.
  
• Take the Franklin Street exit (74B).
  
• Go straight through the traffic light (turns into North 15th Street) and go to Main Street.
  
• Turn left onto Main Street and you will see Main Street Station immediately to your left between 15th and 17th streets.

From points East:

• Take I-64 West to Richmond.
  
• Take the I-95 South/5th Street exit.
  
• Get in the left lane and take the I-95 South ramp.
  
• Merge onto I-95 South.
  
• Take the Franklin Street exit (74B).
  
• Go straight through the traffic light (turns into North 15th Street) and go to Main Street.
  
• Turn left onto Main Street and you will see Main Street Station immediately to your left between 15th and 17th streets.
