The Second Street Parking Deck opened on Nov. 28, 1975.

Built at the request of the City of Richmond, the deck provided 350 additional parking spaces to an area that needed more parking to support the retail and office market. In 1992, the RMA converted the deck's transient level to an honor park system.

The deck is open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Today, the majority of the deck's spaces are occupied by monthly renters, but a sufficient number of spaces remain available for transient parkers.
